A weighing scale is a precision instrument. Like any precision tool, it rewards regular care with consistent accuracy and extended service life. Here are five practical tips to maintain your industrial weighing scale.
1. Keep the Platform Clean
Residue build-up on the platform can affect load cell sensitivity. Clean the platform regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that may corrode the MS Checkered surface.
2. Zero Calibration Before Use
Always zero the scale before beginning weighing operations. Press the Zero/Tare button before your first weighing each day.
3. Protect from Overloading
Never exceed the rated capacity of your scale. Overloading — even momentarily — can permanently deform load cell springs and compromise accuracy.
4. Check the Battery Regularly
A low battery causes display fluctuations and erratic readings. Charge the battery fully before extended use sessions. Replace every 2–3 years as a precaution.
5. Calibrate Periodically
Calibrate your scale every 6 months using certified test weights, or immediately after any impact or relocation. Contact Everest Scales service for professional calibration.
